Natural Drinks, a Cape Town-based company founded in 2014, is making headlines with the rebranding of its entire beverage line. This evolution features vibrant new designs that celebrate both the company’s traditional roots and its innovative spirit.
From its humble beginnings, Natural Drinks has transitioned into a recognizable name across South Africa, offering naturally fermented beverages deeply rooted in the country’s rich cultural heritage. As the company expanded, it astutely adjusted its product offerings based on consumer feedback and market trends, leading to the realization that a refreshed brand identity was essential for continued success.
Instead of a comprehensive rebranding, Natural Drinks engaged in a strategic overhaul by collaborating with the Cape Town design studio, Supernova Collective. Owner Ian Nieuwoudt expressed excitement about this evolution, stating, “We are excited to introduce new designs that celebrate the deep traditional roots of our products in South African culture.”
The new branding incorporates distinct animal mascots and vivid landscape scenes representing various South African regions. This thoughtful approach not only enhances the product’s visual appeal but also forges a deeper emotional connection with consumers who value local identity. Andre Nieuwoudt, head of operations, emphasized the milestone nature of this rebranding: “It symbolises not just a new look, but a deeper alignment with our consumers’ values and expectations.”
Supernova Collective’s founders, Jo Sagrestano and Riekus Raath, articulated their aim to blend Natural Drinks’ history with the spirit of South Africa: “Our goal was to create designs that visually embody the spirit of South Africa’s landscapes, wildlife, and traditions.”
As Natural Drinks embarks on this exciting chapter, its rebranding serves to strengthen its market connection, ensuring the brand resonates with a local audience while staying true to its heritage.
